What is Machine Translation?
Machine translation is a translation made by a machine.  There are different kinds of machine translations:  General domain types of translations such as the translations provided by free online tools, and a specialised machine translation by sector/industry like the one proposed by Lingua Custodia for the Financial domain.
Why is specialised automatic translation better than general automatic translation?
Specialised automatic translation allows for a more accurate translation by limiting the complexity that the context creates, which is the great strength of human translation.
Why should I use machine translation?
To cut costs and gain time or to translate what you would not have translated at all (for example to study a foreign market).  In fact, thanks to Verto, you will have the possibility to translate documents in high volumes all in the same amount of time.  A good automatic machine translation engine allows a translator to translate 6000 to 8000 words a day instead of the average of 1500-2000 words per day.
What do I get with Lingua Custodia that I do not with other offers?
We are the only provider that offers Machine Translation Solutions specialised for the financial industry.  Our offer goes beyond the simple machine translations by providing solutions that fit the needs of our customers.

Our translation engines are specialised and refined at the document-type level.  We are the only one offering this kind of solution to such level of specification.

Other Machine Translation providers do not offer customised engines at the document-type level.

In addition, testing of the results are done by finance industry professionals.

How can I be sure of the quality of the translation before committing?
We can assure you that the translation engines you are using is associated with the type of text you want to translate as our engines can’t be used to do other type of translations.

The engines we offer, are only ready for you to use when you validate their quality.  Tests are carried out regularly to improve our engines.

VERTO improves over time thanks to user feedback but also because the language database grows when finalised translations are re-fed into it.  When the content of the language database has grown enough to be statistically representative, VERTO is “re-trained” to take into account this new input.

Can I test VERTO and its quality?
For VERTO Customised, we can put together a pilot test period of 2 months for a specified language pair.

For VERTO Document Specific, we can offer a free trial for a period of 2 weeks for the document type of your choice.

What do I need to do to set up a pilot test for VERTO Customised?
After contacting Lingua Custodia to discuss your specific needs, we will need to gather and clean your corporate Translation Memories from your translation agencies / or set up from scratch new translation memories using all past documents previously translated by your company in the target language.

Lingua Custodia will then develop a translation software for each language pair needed with this linguistic data.

Finally, we set up both language database and the translation software in the VERTO interface for roll out.

The implementation of the pilot testing takes approximately 1-3 weeks after receipt of your data.

You may then access and test VERTO with your customised translation solution.

What do I need to do to set up a free trial for VERTO Document Specific?
Contact Lingua Custodia and we will provide you with a User Login & Password for you to access VERTO.  All you need is internet access.
What kinds of subscriptions do you offer?

VERTO client interface is very simple and user friendly, you therefore do your post editing directly on the translated document.  We will capture your finalised documents when we do our quality review meetings in order to further “train” VERTO.  We also provide a much more complex interface where post edition can be performed directly but it is dedicated to professional translators.

In case you are already using a post-edition tool, Lingua Custodia has developed an API that will connect your tool to VERTO.
